Breezy Summer

Hello all!  I thought I’d share an outfit I wore that worked well for a hot, end-of-summer type of day.

It was comfortable because the Keds shoes were cushioned flats and the Russell Athletic women’s t-shirt was so soft, but it was also stylish with the addition of a skort.  I am a little late to the party when it comes to wearing skorts, but I’ve now worn them for over a year and adore them.  They make a regular appearance in my day-to-day summer dressing.  A combination of shorts with a skirt over the top, they are so wonderful to move around in because you are covered up with the shorts, yet add a bit of easy elegance due to the skirt.  The final addition that says summer to me is the straw purse and hat–love them both, and they make me happy every time I put them into use.

I love to get my clothing and accessories second hand at thrift stores whenever I can, and indeed the t-shirt, skort, earrings, hat and purse were all thrifted items!  I also made the bracelet I’m wearing out of jewelry pieces found while thrifting, then repurposed and reimagined into items that work with my wardrobe.

I truly believe it’s not the price tag that matters so much as how I wear something and my attitude about the ensemble.

Here’s wishing you a beautiful day!

‘Til next time,

  1. Hello Athena, and thank you for linking up to my 2nd Loved linkup. You are so cute in these photos! I am another believer that style has nothing to do with price tags and trends. It’s all about attitude and self confident. I am so happy you found my blog and hope to see you again and I will put you on my blog roll.

  2. Athena, you are so adorable! I am a huge fan of skorts myself and wish I had more. I always end up layering bike shorts under my skirts for a little extra coverage and modesty! Nobody needs a sneak peek if the wind catches me wrong! Haha. I love this casual style and your straw accessories. Super cute! I would love for you to stop by and join my weekly link ups! I host #SpreadTheKindness on Tuesdays and Link Up On the Edge on Thursdays/Fridays (if I am running late)!

  3. Your entire ensemble is a thrifted success, perfect for a summer day in the garden or about town! The matching straw purse and hat look wonderful, thank you for sharing with Hat Attack!
